I am a freshman in CIT at Purdue University. Prior to coming here, I was the founder/president of a club called Mekdela Computers where we helped underprivileged schools in Ethiopia learn how to use computers by building them computers from spare parts we found in our school and in the community. I am also the co-founder of a VR based startup called Eagle Eye Gaming where we work on a new approach to virtual reality and gaming. I was also the sprinter/hurdler/jumper for our school’s Varsity Sports team. I have interned as a network engineer at UNICEF Ethiopia to learn what it’s like to manage the network of a large organization. I have also played for two different bands in my time in Jordan as a bassist for one, and a guitarist/vocalist for the other. One of my favorite things to do is to learn brand new skills and try and apply them in my life which is why I enter every class/subject I take with an open mind and try to take away at least one new skill from it.
