I am a senior majoring in Virtual Product Integration (VPI) at Purdue University to experience the process of designing through to the end and ultimately, create products to help others. My experience at Purdue has allowed me to keep improving my designs by taking in added feedback from users and professors. I have, and I am currently obtaining, experience with a variety of CAD programs as my major is surrounded by them. Currently, I have over 1000 hours in NX 11, Catia V5, Revit 2018 and Solidworks 2018 collectively. I started in the entertainment-side of computer graphics technology and learned valuable lessons on how I can make something functional as well as beautiful, but switched majors to take on projects where I can be physically hands-on during a product’s development. I have experience in the Computer Graphics Technology industry, specifically pertaining to printing at SDI Innovations. I am looking to move toward a position within the construction or automotive industry that heavily utilizes CAD systems and would allow me to be on-site, ready to make changes as needed.
My portfolio is in constant progress, but samples of my work can be found at https://samuelgoodhart.weebly.com/

Tasked with operating within a large team to format and process hundreds of handbooks in a highly efficient manner. About 25% of my time was aimed at quality control where I checked over others work and communicated with them to ensure the product was ready for the next stage in the pipeline. I was able to experience this first-hand when I was able to work further down the pipeline and gain valuable insight from other points of view.
Operated within a small team to manage and train interns holding the position of Desktop Publishers. Daily tasks included training interns, contacting separate departments, communicating with upper management, assigning interns tasks, and maintaining the progress and quality of work moving the pipeline.

The Virtual Product Integration major involves conceptualizing, designing, and implementing 3D solutions through the use of major Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Management (PDM) software. Within this major, I have learned how to use a variety of CAD software to design professional models to be used for manufacturing or simulation. The most notable project I was involved in was designing, developing, and fully creating a 3D=printed prosthetic leg for a real dog for my Constraint-Based Models class. I have also learned how to fully install and set up a PDM system on to a virtual machine within a cloud-based network.
