Kevin McDonald is a Senior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology and a Certificate for Entrepreneurship and Leadership. He is a Chick Evans Scholar from Burbank, IL, who has completed two previous summer UX internships with Chamberlain Group and KeHE Distributors. Background
Hi! I’m Alex and I’m currently a senior studying Web Development at Purdue University. I work in all areas of web development, with a higher focus on backend programming using PHP combined with databases. Alongside backend programming, I also enjoy working with graphic design to add pleasing aesthetics to my websites and to keep all design elements in-house without needing to outsource them. Overall, I enjoy working in all areas from server setup to front-end development.

Work Experience
My professional work experience consists of an internship at SDI Innovations as a Desktop Publisher Intern working with the graphic design aspect of student school planners. This internship taught me the importance of completing large goals with teamwork and how to apply core graphic design elements effectively to text and images. Portfolio
My portfolio consists of projects I have previously worked on and more information about myself. My favorite project on my portfolio that I have completed was a full phone network and server for my house using Cisco phones and a Raspberry Pi. Although it was not directly related to web development, this was my favorite project because it taught me how to approach projects without any prior knowledge and how to troubleshoot problems efficiently.

I am a senior in Web Programming and Design at Purdue University. I specialize in work with PHP and MySQL databases as that is what my internship experience has been focused on. However, I have some experience in .NET/C# and lots of experience in Javascript/jQuery and CSS/bootstrap. 

I am currently an Undergraduate Senior at Purdue University, earning a BS in Web Programming and Design, a BS in Data Visualization, and minoring in Organizational Leadership. I am on schedule to graduate in May 2020, and am actively involved in the Women in Tech Organization (WIT) and Girls Who Code.
